What I wish people knew about Autism is that Autism is a Beautiful thing. To not be so quick to judge.

Focus on what an autistic individual can do and what their talents are. Not everyone that’s on the spectrum are the same. We are different and special. We have different interests, and personalities. Being nonverbal doesn’t mean you can’t communicate they can be intelligent. People with autism are smart and talented and all of our minds work different and in beautiful ways.

Autism can’t define us, we define autism. People on the spectrum can succeed in school, they can be affectionate, accept t

hem for who they they are. They can be successful and have successful careers when they get a job. Autism effects us differently. We are unique with a purpose and we shine like the stars that we are in our own way. Autism doesn’t make you less it makes you awesome. Autism takes patience and kindness. High functioning and low functioning describes what ability we have.

It’s important to treat each autistic individual with their needs and not focus on their labels.
